Role of the Mentor

At SupportMyService, our hope isn’t simply to fund projects but to bring ownership, discipleship, and community to the work that edifies the Church. The cosigning mentor, a member of the clergy of the Coptic Orthodox Church, plays a vital role in supporting the creator and helping to bring the project to fruition.

Create a Roadmap

The mentor will work closely with the creator to sketch out a roadmap for the project, bringing their insight and experience in ministry and in project management to the process. Mentors will regularly check in with creators to ensure completion of milestones, discuss hiccups, and be an overall resource to the creator as they complete their project.

Edify the Church

The mentor will ensure that the content of the project is in line with the Orthodox Christian faith and that its overall purpose is to meet a need of the members of the Church. The mentor will review resources, discuss methods, and be an anchoring force, keeping perspective throughout the duration of the project.

Disciple the Creator

The mentor will invest time and attention to attend to the spiritual needs of the creator. As an aspiring contributor to the ministry in the Church, the creator looks to the mentor as a shepherd, reaping from their ministerial foresight, spiritual awareness, and focus on Christ as the true purpose and motivation behind every good work.
